Start with the Curt Hitch Overview.
Finding the right hitch. The right hitch for you depends both on your vehicle and the nature
of the load. Follow these steps to determine which hitch you should select:
Step 1: Consult your vehicle owner's manual to determine the towing capacity of your vehicle. Be sure to pay close
attention to any advice or warnings from the manufacturer.*
Step 2: Determine the weight of the load you plan to tow. If towing a trailer, be sure to include the weight of the trailer.
Step 3: Select the year, make, and model of your vehicle.
Step 4: Choose the hitch that meets your needs.
For more information, please see the complete hitch selection guide.
You can also view the complete hitch application guide, dated 07.05.07, in Acrobat .pdf (139 KB) format. The file may take a short time to open, depending on the speed of your internet connection.
*There may be a hitch that will fit your vehicle even though your owner's manual indicates that your vehicle is not suitable for towing. If this is the case, a hitch may still be useful for add-on accessories such as a bike or luggage rack. |
